Bald hedgehog returns to wild after growing spines
Today is Hedgehog Day in Scotland and the Scottish SPCA just released Ratty the hedgehog into the wild.
Ratty was found in Comrie weighing about 324g and nearly completely bald because of a severe ringworm infection. The Scottish SPCA has helped Rattie to rebuild his body condition and spines little by little. Now with his new spines and fur grown back, Ratty weigh 940g and is much more healthy and ready to go back to his wildlife.
If when visiting Scotland this year, you happen to find an injured or distressed wild animal please call the Scottish SPCA animal helpline to save them at 03000 999 999.
