Teacher, 25, dies after ‘stalker sets her on fire’
Yesterday, a woman fell victims to her wounds and died in a hospital in India. This woman, who is unnamed out of respect for her family, was a lecturer in an Indian college and had been stalked for months before being attacked.
The woman was on her way to work in central Maharashtra state when her stalker attacked her with a stick soaked with petrol and set her in flames. An eyewitness quickly came to her rescue when he heard the screams, but the damage was already done. She sustained 40% burns to her body with deep and deadly injuries all over her limbs, head, back and face.
Now people in India are demanding for justice to be made, and for the stalker to receive the death penalty to fight against the large amount of sexual violence suffered by women in India.
