Is US politics beyond the point of repair?

The American political system is a mess for us Europeans. It’s more akin to a reality show with drama and plot twists than actual elections. Somehow we can’t seem to understand it, so what is happening over there?

This is mainly because their system of government is ineffective:
Normally elections should be about choosing effective governments chosen by the most citizens. However, in the US things don’t quite work that way.

Elections aren’t made for majorities but for electoral seats giving more power to bigger states to be able to choose their president. And this is a big issue for the rest of the world, considering America’s leadership on the international political scene.
